# Editing & refunds

> Change a registration after the fact or refund money.

Open any registration from **Event → Registrations** to edit or refund it.

## Edit a registration

The **Edit** action lets you change:

* **Race / category** — moves the rider; capacity in both source and target is updated.
* **Bib** — manual override.
* **Answers** to custom questions.
* **Emergency contact** / **address**.
* **Status** — manually flip to `cancelled` (does not issue a refund).

Saving sends a "registration updated" email to the rider unless you uncheck **Notify rider**.

## Refunds

Open the **Refund** action.

* **Full refund** — refunds the entire amount paid via Stripe to the rider's original payment method.
* **Partial refund** — refund any amount up to what was originally charged.
* **Reason** — internal note for your records.

The platform service fee is **not** refunded on partial refunds; on full refunds the service fee is also returned.

The registration status flips to `refunded` and Time2Bike emails the rider a refund confirmation. The Stripe refund typically settles in 5–10 business days.

## Transfer

The **Transfer** action moves the registration's race entry from one rider account to another. Payments stay with the original payer; only the racer identity changes. Useful for selling/giving away a bib.

## Delete

Manager-only. Removes the registration record. The Stripe charge is **not** automatically refunded — issue the refund first if needed.
