Time2Bike keeps a complete history of everything that happens on the timer: every finish recorded, every time edited, every rider marked DNF, every entry deleted, and who did each one. You don’t have to manage this. It’s the reason a few things behave the way they do.

Deleting doesn’t destroy anything

When you delete a wrong entry, it disappears from the results — but the record of it stays. That means:

• A deleted finish can be brought back. If you delete the wrong row, it’s recoverable.
• You can answer “what did we originally record?” months later, when a rider queries a result.
• A volunteer can’t do permanent damage. Whatever they press, the underlying record is intact and a director can put it right.

The same is true of edits. Typing in a manual time doesn’t erase what the finish line recorded; it adds a correction on top of it, and both are visible.

Why two phones recording the same rider isn’t a problem

Both entries are kept. The rider’s row is flagged as having two candidate finishes, and you pick which one is right. Neither is thrown away before a human looks at it. This is deliberate. Automatically discarding one would be guessing, and guessing about a rider’s time is exactly what you don’t want a computer doing.

Why offline phones merge cleanly

Because each phone keeps its own history and every entry carries the moment it happened, a phone that’s been offline can hand over everything it recorded and have it fall into the right place — not appended to the end of the results.

Getting a copy

Every action, including who was issued which volunteer link and when, is recorded on Time2Bike’s servers — not just on the phone that did it. If you need a written record for a protest, a sanctioning body, or an insurer, contact support and ask for the audit trail for your event.
