- Finalize — “these numbers are settled.” Locks the results.
- Publish — “the world can see them.” Puts results on your event page.
Before you finalize
1
Press Stop on each race
Stops the clock. You can still change everything after this.
2
Work through anything flagged
The screen marks what it isn’t sure about:
- A rider recorded twice — pick which time is right.
- A finish awaiting start — nobody pressed Start for that race.
- Riders who started but never finished — mark them DNF.
3
Mark your non-starters
Anyone registered who didn’t line up should be DNS. Otherwise they sit in
the results unaccounted for, and someone will ask.
4
Check every timing device shows green
Finalize won’t let you through while a device still has finishes waiting to
upload — which is exactly the check you want at this moment.
!!-IMAGE-NEEDED-!! — A stopped race with two flagged rows waiting to be resolved, and the Finalize button below.
Finalize
Click Finalize Session in the footer. The results lock and no new times can be recorded — by you or by anyone else timing. Needs the admin level, or organization membership. Made a mistake? Unlock the timer, fix it, and finalize again. Nothing is lost by finalizing early — it’s a lock, not a shredder.Publish
Click Publish. This:- Puts results on your public event page at
time2.bike/events/[slug]/results. - Adds each result to that rider’s profile and race history.
- Emails every finisher to tell them results are up, unless you’ve turned that off for your organization.
What riders and spectators see
- A table per race: place, bib, name, category, time, status.
- Sortable by category.
- For brackets, the bracket diagram with each match’s times.
- Each rider’s name links to their profile, if their privacy settings allow it.
Handling a protest after publishing
- Unpublish, if you want the numbers off the site while you look.
- Unlock the timer.
- Make the correction — every original entry is still there, so you can see exactly what was recorded and by whom.
- Finalize and publish again.
