Teams and organizations are different things on Time2Bike:
  • An organization is your workspace as an event host — the thing you’re in right now.
  • A team is a racing club a rider belongs to.
They’re stored separately and share no permissions. A rider on Coldwater Composite can race events run by any organization; their team affiliation just travels with their name.

Riders choose their own team, at registration

You don’t manage team affiliation and you don’t need to set anything up for it. Every rider picks the team shown next to their name while they’re registering, on each entry. What they type is up to them:
  • A club or composite team they belong to on Time2Bike.
  • A college or high-school program.
  • A shop or sponsor — often whoever paid for the entry.
  • Nothing, if they’re racing as a personal entry.
Riders who belong to a Time2Bike team get theirs filled in automatically from their profile; everyone else types a free-text name. Both appear identically to you and to spectators. It shows up next to their name:
  • On the start list and public registration list.
  • On your registrations tables.
  • In results, live and published.
Nothing verifies these names. A rider can type any club or sponsor they like — the field exists so results read the way riders and their sponsors expect, not as a membership check. If you need verified affiliation for a championship, that’s what a league is for.
You can’t edit a rider’s team, and a team can’t edit your event. If an affiliation is wrong, the rider fixes it on their own profile — or you can correct the registration itself. See Editing registrations.

Team admins registering their riders

A team owner or admin can register several of their members for one of your races in a single checkout, paying once. From your side this looks like an ordinary registration — one order, several participants, all tagged with the same team. Members have to opt in to this individually, so you’ll never see a team registering someone who didn’t agree to it. See Racing together.

Team-versus-team scoring

Scoring whole teams against each other is a league feature, not an event setting — there is no per-race team scoring toggle. If you’re running a championship where clubs compete against clubs, that lives in the league tools. For individual season-long standings across several of your events, use a series instead.

Relay teams are something else

The relay team you build inside the registration flow is scoped to a single race. It shares the word “team” and nothing else — it isn’t a club, has no roster, and disappears with the event.
